![]() Impeach George Bush You have Two Choices - Pay me or Pay me Bush talks tough about why the democrats have to do things his way. Perhaps he's forgotten that Congress is a whole arm of government. But the political delay is the Veto, not Congress refusing to support the troops. It's the President's threatened act of veto which is a politically motivated undermining of the stated need for funding of our military leaders. Source: TheTip, 2007-04-08 Candidate: TheTIP In his Saturday Address, President Bush points out correctly that the Democrats are refusing to continue to fund his war without any clear version of how we're intending to stop it. That's what the American People want, as evinced by their replacement of the Republicans in the last election. We don't like seeing body-bags of friends come home, nor do we like how our country's reputation has been besmirched by this aggressive and unnecessary war. The president has insisted that by making this a "political issue" democrats are endangering our troops, when in fact it is his continued decision to keep American Soldiers in Iraq as an occupying force that is endangering them. That option, retrieving our troops immediately, was not on the table in Bush's speech, it's the giant elephant in the room about which no one was willing to speak. This immanent Veto by the president will further delay the funding which he said in the speech the troops need, and as a result will because of political reasons, endanger our troops. It is, therefore, in fact the President who is endangering our troops for political reasons and the blood for the dealy in funding as a result of his Veto lays firmly on his hands.
