![]() Impeach George Bush Pretty Please? House democrats have finally come up with a plan - Bother the President. Source: Robbie Lindauer, 2007-01-18 Candidate: Democratic Party Just about nobody is a fan of the President's plan to send more troops to Iraq. Republicans see it as more of the same failing strategy and as a massively unpopular subject among their constiutents. Democrats, similarly, see it as a continuous supply of mayonaise with which to smear the president. Greens and Libertarians see it as more of the same unlawful war. The troops don't like it (by about 2/3rds according to most recent polls). The Generals really don't like it, especially again Colin Powell. (Not that he's got any credibility left to spend.) Even the president's own advisory council told him it was a bad move. Only the most hawkish and politically reactionary arm of the Republican Party - the Neo-Cons who love spending money on wars - likes this move. That is, only George, Cheney and papa Bush like this move - why? MONEY.... Anyway, so what are the great plans of the Democrats with their newfound control over congress? Have they figured out how to put an end to this war? Are they gonna stop the President from what is obviously the second greatest mistake of the presidency (the first being going there in the first place)? Are they going to start handing down subpoenas over Bush' backing down on the illegal wiretapping? No. They're going to politely pass a resolution that does precisely nothing. Nothing. Nada. Nil. Zilch. Zip. Forget-about-it. Add a comment to this Message in our Forums. While you're at it, check out our forums too! User Originated Comments: |
