![]() Impeach George Bush Out On A Limb The complaint heard over and over again is "We complain, but have no answers." Here's a few suggestions. Source: The TIP, 2003-08-29 Candidate: TheTIP We're all agreed that in just eight years, the Social Security S__t will hit the fan. Congress has had years to prepare for this fast approaching crisis, but has chosen to 1) ignore it; 2) exacerbate it; 3) exploit it. Here's the way to force them to solve it: Congress and all Federal Employees currently have their own Retirement system: Congress doesn't contribute to Social Security. Americans need to force Congress to abolish its own pension and retirement systems and join Social Security. If we don't get it, they don't get it, either. How about this one. Congress is out of touch with its constituency. Each congressman should be paid the AVERAGE INCOME of their constituents. Let's see how they do on Food Stamps! I'll bet it won't take five years to raise the Minimum Wage!! Education and Affirmative Action. Forget about Pell Grants. Instead, use the money for scholastic scholarship. Kids that graduate from High School with a 3.0 GPA can go to any State College or University Tuition Free. They must maintain a 3.0 GPA each quarter/semester to continue tuition free. If they drop below 3.0, they pay until they go above 3.0 again. Students must arrange for their own room and board. Public funding of private colleges and universities ends. Their endowments can cover it. Foreigh Aid No more Foreign Aid. All we do is sell Armaments anyway, and then we have to go to war with the countries that we sold weapons to in the first place. Instead: Foreign students can go to school at American Public Colleges and Universities Tuition Free as long as they keep their GPA above 3.0 AND ON THE CONDITION THAT UPON GRADUATION, THEY RETURN TO THEIR COUNTRY OF ORIGIN TO WORK FOR AT LEAST 10 YEARS. If they return to the US before 10 years, they have to repay their college tuition. Okay, what do you think? Got any solutions of your own? Add a comment to this Message in our Forums.
