![]() Impeach George Bush May I Interrupt While the US media does its sleep walk through yet another star-studded scandal, more Americans are dying in Iraq. Source: The TIP, 2003-11-20 Candidate: TheTIP Twenty-five dead and 400 wounded in Istambul as SOMEBODY, no one knows who, bombs the British Consulate. Frick and Frack, aka Bush and Blair, vow they won't be deterred.. Kinda makes you misty eyed, doesn't it? No matter the estimated 200,000 protesters in London, they turn a deaf ear and carry on. Meanwhile, back on US soil, thousands are marching in Miami complaining about the new financial order of the world. Unfortunately, the well-armed, well-organized police keep them 300 yards away from a very tall wall separating the protestors from the participators. We need to get through that wall, folks. Say, what if they gave a sale, and nobody came? How about we boycot Christmas this year? Ya'think the people making the billions and trillions off our hard labor would sit up and take notice if we stopped handing it over like Stepford Wives every December? I say, hit 'em where it hurts, their pocket books. Add a comment to this Message in our Forums. While you're at it, check out our forums too! User Originated Comments: From: Krystal 2004-01-09 00:00:00 yeah, boycott them right in their pocket books...that --would make them take notice --- they would whine and cry and do anything for not that to happen...like i've been saying...boycott them as well!...start telling as many people as you can. they have no business trying to control us when it is ---our---- money they are hurting ---us--- with!!! we don't need to accept that at all...we can always have rallies and marches...make more people aware...but we don't need violence to get the message across! as always, i hope people keep safe as possible... From: Linda 1999-11-30 00:00:00 thanks, krystal, i appreciate the encouragement. From: Rita 1999-11-30 00:00:00 well thought out linda! its the middle of the winter here and i forgot about the local artists that sell their creations in the summer in little outdoor markets. one day they have a showing of local artists up and down a long line of sidewalks. yes, from now on i'll go to these little fairs, markets and buy the future presents there and just store them at home till i stike up an urge to give thme to someone(when theres an occasion for it or when it strikes my fancy). once in awhile ideas(things) are right in front of your face and you don't immediately see it. i guess the reason i never saw that was i sometimes don't have the extra money to give gifts in the summer. i have just enough spending $$ then. maybe i think this summer will be different. i don't celebrate xmas anyway, even so anyone can give a gift any day of the year! thanks 4 the comment. i've seen your posts around on thetip.org... From: Linda 1999-11-30 00:00:00 rita, i'm thinking that we can still give christmas presents - just don't buy them from retailers. next june, we can all start going to the little street fairs that every community has all summer long. we can buy handmade pots, windmills, chimes, aprons, paintings and photos, all that kind of stuff, from the artists that make them. by p-ss the retailers, employ local artisans. that's the ticket. From: Rita 1999-11-30 00:00:00 p.s. heres another one i got from ieamericaradio.org - www.nosweatshop.com - in this online mall no items in their stores are made in sweat shops...enough said... |
