Lantos Rolls Over - Stops Timing Debate

Lantos, the senior House Democrat from California rolled over today in the house, restating the Democrats agreement with Washington's Bloodthirst.

Source: TheTip, 2002-10-08

Candidate: Tom Lantos

Tom Lantos restated the obvious, there is no formal opposition by the democratic party in the house to a war against Iraq. This is, no doubt, due to two recent Pork-Belly resolutions on "Campaign Reform" in which the houses agreed to give more money to states to fix the electoral process and the Draught releif bill in the midwest states, most notably Daschle's state, were given money to hand out to their constituency "discretionarily".

In a pre-emptive move, there was an attempt to postpone the debate on a matter of order by state congressman from the north-east over a fixed 20-hour debate process agreed upon off-of-the-floor by the leadership of the two parties.

Once again, there is no mention of the loss of life of american sons and daughters sent to fight in this oil-and-greed driven war.

And without sufficient fact-finding or anything more than accusations, the Bush Administration and his cohorts in the Congress are calling Saddam Hitler. Saddam's no nice-guy, but then, it was the US who put him into power.

tom lantos is more concerned with the humane
treatment of dogs--as evidenced by his demand for
swift disciplinary action toward michael
vick--than with humane treatment of embryos. mr.
lantos, you are living proof our country is going
to the dogs!

why is it that i don't see
tom lantos condemn
the so-
called kosovars for burning
and
looting serbian orthodox
churches and
monasteries?

lantos was quick to
condemn
serbia's protective stance
against
albanian terrorism
but does and says nothing
when
serbian orthodox nuns have
been
raped, priests and bishops beaten, and
serbian
villagers homes torched and
their
livestock killed.

lantos is the most
hypocritical member of the
u.s. house and a
disgrace to
the democratic party.

but the point here is that his constituency, the
people from whom he draws his power, are against
what he's voting for.

if saddam is a
vicious dictator, bring that out in open
court-international law provides for the
prosecution of tyrants and their extradition.

but usually people are allowed to
defend themselves.

if he's a tyrant and
neo-hitler, so be it, let's determine that in a
court of law, rather than just go straight to war.

do you people have any idea what you're talking
about? honestly, you write like you'd been living
in a cave for the last 20 years. saddam routinely
beats people to death with his fists and starves
his population while building himself palaces. do
you really feel good about fighting to keep him in
power? i promise you, the people of iraq will be
grateful when he's gone. the reason lantos
disagrees with you is because his entire family
was killed by dictators when he was a child. take
it from someone who knows. we're not doing the
people of iraq any favors by letting saddam stay
in power.
