![]() Impeach George Bush It's Pure Propaganda Bush and his surrogates are willing to call Kerry a liar. They're willing to say his service in Viet Nam was dishonorable. What do you suppose they're willing to say about Muqtada al Sadr? Source: The TIP, 2004-08-17 Candidate: TheTIP Al Sadr is holed up in Fallujah, holding off the combined armies of the United States and Iraq. Why? Al Sadr's followers are an oppressed people. Shia, they were oppressed first by Saddam Hussein, then the US Colonial Government, and now the puppet government headed by Alawi. Saddam Hussein's Iraq was a carefully constructed society wherein those who found favor with Hussein lived in relative plenty -- plenty of the necessities of life, water, food, electricy, education and plenty of the finer things, homes, clothing, travel privileges. Al Sadr's followers were not among those so blessed. They were starved for food, water, electricy. The sewages ran down the center of the street in Najaf. There was no health care and there were no favors. Al Sadr's father, brothers and father-in-law were all murdered by Hussein for their efforts on behalf of their people making them martyrs and their followers fiercely loyal to them, their memories and their family. So when Hussein was overthrown, al Sadr sought to be a part of the new government, the democratic government. He was rebuffed by the more powerful Mulahs and by the US. His newspaper was closed and his voice on behalf of his people silenced. Al Sadr has vowed to fight on for his people. He is willing to die for them. What does he want? A seat at the table. He wants to represent his people in the new government. He wants his people to have a voice in the new Iraq. Why is there such opposition to him? Bush says al Sadr is bought and paid for by the Iranian Mulahs. Bush has said a lot of things. I'll tell you what...when he finds the WMDs, I'll give his words some credence. Until then, why don't we all step back and so some talking instead of fighting. Add a comment to this Message in our Forums. While you're at it, check out our forums too! User Originated Comments: |
