![]() Impeach George Bush Finishing the Job Before the President of the United States took our nation to War in Iraq, most Americans were ambivalent, some were in favor of the war, others against it. Now, most Americans are no longer ambivalent - they want out of Iraq. Source: The TIP, 2004-08-18 Candidate: TheTIP There are all kinds of statistics floating about out there. Catholics are agaist the war - 51%. Seniors are against the war - 76%. NorthEasterners are against the war - 80%. The newspapers and pollsters, had they been honest and asked the right question two years ago, would be reporting that the majority of Americans are STILL against the war. But War sells newspapers and the correspondents wouldn't have been imbedded if there hadn't been a war - so off to war we went. Bush is pretty silent about it these days, though. He rarely talks about Iraq. Oh, he sermonizes on Evil. He scares us about Fear. He warns about Terror. But Iraq...not so much. John Negraponte has been disappeared - no one's heard from him in months. Even Senators and Congressmen have canceled their junkets to Afghanistan and Iraq. It's all pretty Ho-Hum these days. Except, of course, Americans men and women are still dying in Iraq. And there's a big fat mess in Iraq. And there's no strategy to get the hell out of Iraq. About the only thing you hear about Iraq anymore is ... We need to Finish the Job. So some poor slob is still traipsing through the desert looking under every grain of sand for Weapons of Mass Destruction while every politician is trying desperately to distance him/herself from the worst vote ever taken by the Courts and Congress - giving the Boy Prince keys to the arsenal.
