Impeach George Bush

Feinstein Caugth in the Weapons of Mass Destruction Web

Diane Feinstein is famous for having flouted the outcry of the people of California with her "I Know Better" release. But the evidence wasn't there.

Candidate: Diane

Diane's last statement was that as a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee she had access to compelling evidence that there was a significant danger of WMD's from Iraq. She therefore, at that time, supported the conferring of the Legislature's war-powers to the Bush Administration.

Now that the 'evidence' is coming into question, Dianne starts to backpeddle, but in the end, she's got to admit she was wrong - both to overrule her constituency and to have voted to get American Soldiers Killed in a needless oil-war!

Statement by Senator Dianne Feinstein

* On Questions Being Raised About Weapons of Mass Destruction inIraq

“The fact that the United States has not yet found significant weapons of mass destruction stockpiles or capabilities in Iraq is deeply troubling.

I understand Senator Warner, chairman of the Armed Services Committee, has asked that every Administration statement on weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and the intelligence backing up each statement be presented to his committee and the Intelligence Committee.  I strongly support that request.

At this stage, it is not known why any significant chemical or biological weapons have not been uncovered when we had been given, before the war, an enumeration of specific chemicals and biologicals that were unaccounted for and presumed to be present in Iraq, possibly to be dispersed on the battlefield.

I do not wish to speculate at this time as to what happened. And it is still quite possible that weapons of mass destruction will in fact be found as inspections continue.

I do believe, however, that it is appropriate for the Intelligence Committee as well as the Armed Forces Committee to look at the specifics of the intelligence which drove the conclusions that led to the use of force against Iraq. And, to that end, I am strongly supportive of a joint investigation of these issues.”
