Defeat the Beast

For six years, Robbie and I, and many others, have made reasoned arguments concerning the abject lawlessness of the Bush Administration, the Bush family, and every person brought into the fold to serve the Bushes. All to no avail.

I've just not been able to figure out how, knowing the right is on our side, the Bushes can wheedle out of every situation, smiling and laughing, while thousands, millions suffer and die. And I've not been able to find the right words.

During a conversation with my daughter, Anne, though, she enlightened me. She reminded me that we don't struggle against flesh and blood, but against very powerful rules of darkness. And, given the odds in that fight, we don't stand a chance in hell. There is only One who can defeat the Darkness.

And, so, I am on my knees. Repenting of trying to do it myself. Of my pridefulness and relying on my abilities to turn a phrase. I must look to God to defeat this enemy.

And I know that God can and will defeat him.

I am reminded of Daniel, who, a prisoner of Babylon, prayed and waited, but was finally vindicated when God's angel arrived after being waylayed in, of all places, Persia.

And I am bolstered by Elijah whose eyes were opened to allow him to see the armies of angels surrounding the army of Ba'al's priests. Who shall prevail? I am not afraid.

The negativity we exude whenever we even think about the Mr. Bush and his legions must give way to prayerful calm. Negativity feeds the Beast. Patience and Faith is the stuff of God. Faith, Hope and Love.

Want to defeat the enemy? Our arsenal is Faith, Hope and Love. Pick up your weapons and follow God into battle.

And we all said "Amen."

so what do we do....we pray...we pray for the holy
spirit to work in the lives of our global
leadership so that they do god's will and not
their own. we also pray for their protection
against evil and being swayed by evil...i am
praying in the car on the way to and from work.
it makes the day all that better.
