![]() Impeach George Bush A WORD ON WORDS A bunch of entertainers got together last night to raise money for the Kerry/Edwards ticket - and trashed Bush/Cheney while they were at it. Source: The TIP, 2004-07-09 Candidate: TheTIP Political discourse in the US, excluding George Washington, has always been raw. Read what Benjamin Franklin had to say about President John Adams if you don't believe me. Its how we keep from shooting one another. So when Whoopi Goldberg, who is a very passionate person, gets together with others of like mind, it is not only understandable, but expected that she will get down and dirty. She's in good company. Listening to Rush Limbaugh, even occasionally, I'm offended. but I don't hold Bush and Cheney responsible for what Rush says. And I don't hold Kerry responsible for what someone else says, either. We can be adults, and we can each be responsible for what comes out of our own mouths while realizing none of us can control what comes out of someone else's mouth. On the other hand, we are responsible for what we do and say. So when George Bush lies to Congress and the American people in an effort to get us into a war that never had to be fought, and in doing so caused the deaths of a thousand American soldiers, the maming of thousands of Americans and the deaths and wounding of tens of thousands Iraqis. If the Vice President doesn't want to apologize for his potty mouth on the Senate floor, it seems to me quite a stretch to ask Goldberg to apologize for what she said. If Republicans find it impossible to be honest, can the Democrats at least be adult enough to call them on it? Add a comment to this Message in our Forums.
