![]() Impeach George Bush America's Dysfunctional Government Everyone I know either is already, is soon to be, or should be - participating in a 12-Step program. Source: The TIP, 2004-02-20 Candidate: TheTIP Alcohol or drug addicted? Married to someone alcohol or drug addicted? How about this one - got a kid alcohol or drug addicted? No? All right, Overweight? Obsessive/Compulsive? How about this - got a room in the house that is chronically messed-up? Face it, we’re all living with some kind of dysfunction. Some of us have already begun the process of facing it and becoming healed. Others, like the Ditto heads, are still in Denial. It’s me, it’s me oh Lord, standing in the need of prayer... There was a time when believed we could find somebody that wasn’t dysfunctional and elect them President. But our current government is, if nothing else, proof positive that there is absolutely no one left un-infected with this singularly American disease. Look, President of the United States, George W. Bush, is a recovering alcoholic. He may be a recovering drug addict as well, I don’t know. But he’s admitted to being a drunk and there’s plenty of empirical evidence to prove it. His entire family is rife with that kind of stuff. Siblings, children, nieces and nephews...and Barbara and George Bush are both enablers, at least. Bush is running for re-election, meaning half the people in the US are in denial. Bush gave a speech yesterday to the Republican Governors - all of whom are in denial and enablers. His speech was entertaining enough, though after four years, he still hasn’t come up with a reason for anyone to vote for him. But that’s another story. Bush did make one good point. His probable Democratic opposition - Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts, is equally dysfunctional. Kerry is chronically double minded. He keeps making really bad choices only to repent and spend lots more energy back peddling than he should have spent in the first place making a really good choice. Beginning with Viet Nam. Why did Kerry enlist to go to Viet Nam, an obviously illegal, immoral war, in the first place? A better, more thought out decision would have been to join the hundreds of thousands of young men and women on college and university campuses across the country chanting “Hell No, We Won’t Go!” or assaulting draft boards and going to jail. Okay, so Kerry did all right in Viet Nam. He managed to survive and even saved some American lives, only to return to America to admit he was wrong in the first place and join the anti-war protesters. But Kerry didn’t learn his lesson. As a U.S. Senator, Kerry voted for NAFTA and GATT. He voted to give Bush the authority to attack Iraq. He also voted for the Patriot Act. Now, he’s repenting for all of that. Hey, don’t do me any favors, John. Get it right the first time. Consistently. Then call me. Now, can we find someone smart enough to get it right the first time? Actually, we did. But we’ve sent him back to Vermont. That’s what I mean. Dysfunctional. Add a comment to this Message in our Forums. While you're at it, check out our forums too!
