Men in Suits

Is it an accident that the Bad Guys in the Matrix are all in suits?

Source: The TIP, 2004-01-23

Candidate: Big Business

Howard Dean came out of nowhere and promised to stay there until the media picked up on the impact he was having on the internet.

Dean was making money - big money. And he was by-passing the usual avenues - advertising on television. Well, somebody had to put a stop to it.

It began with the Democratic Party itself. From Bill and Hillary to DNC National Chairman to every Congressional leader - chorus sang out warning that Dean couldn't win.

They were wrong. Dean, undaunted, plugged into the anger of the unrepresented, his supporters swelling, went from nowhere to Leader of the Pack.

That's when the media stepped in. First building him up by calling him the front runner, then taking air.
Snipers took their best practiced shots. Tim Russert led the attacks, but before long, every news outlet was belittling the ex-Govenor:He doesn't have experience. Where is his wife? He only wears one suit. He's angry. He's a pacifist. Doesn't his wife support his candidacy?

Warning: The guys sitting behind the desks are all in suits.
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

yes, all those who have real power are men in
expensive business suits and silk ties and
polished black dress shoes. i would support a law
that would bring more equality: all well-dressed
men in suits would have to relinquish their fancy
shoes and socks and go barefoot in all public
places between 8am and 8pm. it's hard to maintain
dignity and authority without those shiny shoes -
and things would even out.
