Impeach George Bush

Take Back America

Lulled into a bloated sense of well-being, our government, in our name, roams the planet making mischief and causing grief. Arnold Swarzenegger is elected Governor of California, and we are fed news about the sex lives of Laci Peterson, Michael Jackson and Kobe Bryant.

Candidate: Big Business

Americans have become too fat, too comfortable, and too lazy to long keep our Democracy.

We sit back in our recliners eating micro waved popcorn watching pre-digested news on both broadcast networks and cable news stations - all of which are owned and operated by huge multi-national corporations - paid for by other huge multi-national corporations, all of which have carefully bought the government of the United States and written its policies.

If anyone seriously believes the news they get from any of these outlets is designed to truly inform, they are fooling themselves. The news we get is designed to dull our senses, redirect our attention, mask the truth, entertain.

Our current situation in Iraq is a case in point.

Have we forgotten so quickly how our country got involved in Iraq in the first place.

It is well established that during the Reagan/Bush administration, Iraq was an ally of the United States. Reagan used Iraq in its war against Iran. The US provided
biological and chemical weapons and encouraged their use against the people of Iran. When Saddam Hussein used these weapons against his own people, Secretaries of State Baker and Rumsfeld feigned surprise, but secretly told Hussein to ignore their public posturing. Hussein was our man in Baghdad.

But Saddam Hussein turned out to be not so easily manipulated as the US hoped. George H.W. Bush was president in 1990. He had a reputation of likeability, but in truth, he is a hard-bitten descendant of Nazi sympathizers who does not tolerate deviance from his single-minded plans. What were those plans?

Bush's goal was to establish an American presence in the Middle East so as to control the most important resource on earth today - fossil fuels. World War I and II were both fought for the same reason. But the now dissolved Ottoman Empire had successfully resisted control. Israel, carved out of the territory then governed by the British Empire and the only westernized country in the region,
is a thorn in the side of the Islamic world where most of the oil is found. The mere existence of Israel in the Middle East keeps the area in constant turmoil. But even Israel refused to allow an American military presence within her borders, and America desperately wanted a military presence in the region.

So when Saddam Hussein mentioned his intention to invade Kuwait to American Ambassador April Glaspie, the Bush administration encouraged him. Later, Bush claimed it was a mistake, but it was no mistake. Bush wanted to provoke a situation that would give the US entry into the area. And it worked.

The United States turned its back on its ally Iraq in favor of the brutal dictatorships of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Syria. Bush never attempted a peaceful solution to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait. Instead, Bush threatened Iraq was ready to invade Saudi Arabia and insisted that American Troops had to be stationed in Saudi Arabia to keep Hussein's hordes out.
After an easy rout of Iraq's army, an army the United States characterized as the third largest army on the planet, Bush left off following Hussein to Baghdad to utterly defeat him. People smarter than I have asked "Why?" One answer might be that as long as Hussein was a threat in Iraq, American troops could be left in Saudi Arabia. Defeat Hussein, and the troops would not be welcome any longer in Saudi Arabia.

And so it was. For 10 years, American GIs remained in the Arabian desert - Americans who are famously known for not adhering to Islamic customs and culture. Alcohol consumption, dating local women, American women in fatigues, western music and movies, customs and mores - all these things were deeply offensive to the fundamental Muslims. Time and time again, fundamental Muslims asked the Americans to leave their sacred land. Osama Bin Laden, the leader of a largely inconsequential band of outlaws headquartered in Afghanistan, was perhaps the loudest voice among those protesting the American presence
in Saudi Arabia. An American ally in Afghanistan's war with the Soviet Union, Bin Laden was ignored by the Bush and Clinton administrations. In order to raise awareness for his demands, he began a reign of terror worldwide, bombing embassies, the World Trade Center, and even an American Warship. All to no avail. Americans news media never even examined why Bin Laden was attacking American interests. American interests were entrenched in the Middle East and had no intentions of leaving.

On September 11, 2001, Bin Laden made his most spectacular move to date. Using two passenger airlines, he rammed the World Trade Centers, leveling them before our very eyes. In response, President George W. Bush attacked Afghanistan. But, like his father before him, he left his nemesis behind to fight another day, instead, turning his attention to Iraq.

Fearful of the fundamental sects of Islam, the Saudis told the Americans it was time to leave their country. Bush decided that invading Iraq now
would give him a new military base in the Middle East - Iraq, rich both in oil and fresh water. And, like the first Bush, George W. began a campaign of villainization of Hussein based on two now disproved theories: That Iraq had weapons of mass destruction that posed an imminent threat to the United States, and that Hussein had ties to Al Qaeda.

Nearly a year after the American invasion of Iraq, the world knows there was no imminent threat, no weapons of mass destruction, and Bush has admitted Iraq had no known ties to Al Qaeda. Nevertheless, 140,000 American soldiers are stationed in Iraq today. The death toll rises daily but coverage of the returning soldiers is forbidden by the government and the media complies. Over 9,000 American soldiers have returned maimed for life, and these too are ignored. The Media, pawns of the rich multi-national corporations with business interest in the oil of Iraq, sanitize our news and makes us believe the Occupation of Iraq is bloodless.

If the Iraqis ever gain control of their country, the US is determined to leave three American Military Bases within Iraq's borders. Even Democrats running against Bush for president this year don’t dispute plans for military bases in Iraq.

Which brings us back to the original premise - there is no opposition to the government. We are lulled into a bloated sense of well-being as our government, in our name, roams the planet making mischief and causing grief. Arnold Swarzenegger is elected Governor of California, and we are fed news about the sex lives of Laci Peterson, Michael Jackson and Kobe Bryant.

Please, don't be duped. Use the last weapon We The People have - the internet. Inform yourselves. Then Vote.

zell miller and joeseph
lieberman are the only *real* democrats left in
that joke of a party. the founding fathers, even
jack kennedy, are rolling over in their graves
that these socialist scum, like kerry, would use
the word "democrat" for the way they act, the laws
they p-ss, the judges they elect.why do i use such
a strong word? i`ll tell you. they have already
done so much damage to this country it`s going to
take a generation to get rid of the stench of the
clinton years and longer to get rid of those
judges. but people see that now, from the
decimation of our military, to one of the many
clinton-appointed judges in san francisco (sodom)
that is fight`ing so hard to make sure a 9
month-old baby, still in the womb, can legally
have it`s skull crushed and it`s brain s--ked out
to avoid it`s "mother" being a little "depressed".
oh yes, we must avoid that at all costs! we cant
have women running around "depressed"! as a matter
of fact, i know that a lot of women get depressed
after the normal birth of a baby. perhaps a
liberal president like john kerry can do those
women a favor and get a law p-ssed where a woman
can get that same "procedure", as they call it,
done to her week-old newborn! i don`t see the
difference, except for a week.

i would also like to know how governor bush thinks
he has the power to change out entire government
by using a executive order. i read yesterday he
was wanting to make a faith based government and
change what this country was founded on. freedom
of religion. our fore fathers fought a war to make
this so. and if he does this which religion is he
talking about and i guess if you not the same as
him you are out in the cold. the separation of
church and state were put there for a reason. and
that reason was so anyone could practice their
choice of religions without being told not to. we
have catholics, hindu, buddhist, jewish and more
others than i can mention. do we of this country
think it will be right to tell these people that
their religion means nothing. this is suppose to
be a free country that lives with a democracy. in
today’s government i wonder if you can even call
it that. the people of this country need to open
their eyes and see what they are losing. dubya is
making plans into 2015 is he planning being in
office at that time. i wonder when term limits are
going to change too or is he planning to become
the first king. we have to stand for our rights. i
say this to democratic and republican a like. open
your eyes and see what has happened to this great
country.

amen. once again praise this country and
guaranteed freedom of speech given to each and
every one of us. without being labeled
unpatriotic, another political jab for those who
refuse to be conformist. and praise the founding
fathers for giving the power to the people to
chose their own president.......well at least we
still got free speech.
