![]() Impeach George Bush Libby President Bush commuted Scooter Libby's prison sentence wiping away two and half years of jail time with the stroke of a pen. President Bush ignored Libby's felony conviction for lying to investigators, ignored the jury's guilty verdict, and ignored the rule of law that governs our nation. Source: Paul Hawley, 2007-07-04 Candidate: TheTIP Join me and tell President Bush that you are appalled by his actions. Sign the DSCC's petition today letting President Bush know that his outrageous conduct won't be tolerated by the American people. http://www.dscc.org/makeadifference/petitions/20070702_libby.htm Now I'll add my two cents: Of course, from the outset I was suspicious of Bush's "will be taken care of" terminology. I learned early on that he seems a bumbler but is very precise in his speech ("We have learned that the British...") What tans my hide is that Bush allowed the twelve jurors to take time away from family and work, that he hired Fitzwhatever to do an investigation and prosecution job, that a judge he hired to do hear the case did his job, and Bush nullified the whole process. Seems to me he owes the court some money. Either he does or SOMEONE does. And, lastly, I remember that during the Clinton/Marc Rich pardon, there are procedures that need to be followed. (As it turned out, Rich's lawyer was none other than Scooter Libby) Did Libby apply for a commutation or pardon for himself? On what grounds? Who was his attorney? Did Cheney apply to Bush for a commutation for Libby? Where's the paperwork? Is it classified? Who's idea was this, or did it originate in the Oval Office? And why aren't our ever vigilant press asking these questions and getting answers? Add a comment to this Message in our Forums. While you're at it, check out our forums too!
