![]() Impeach George Bush Would SOMEONE PLEASE INDICT ROVE! I'm getting tired of hearing October, November, next year. Everybody knows it's time to put the horse out to pasture, what's the hold-up? Source: TheTip, 2005-10-11 Candidate: Republican Party The old saying goes "you can fool some of the people some of the time..." Well, Rove has been fooling all the people for too long. It's time. Many left and right websites are predicting the indictment is coming soon. But here're the facts. Rove was named as the source for the plame outing. It's illegal, Rove did it, that's all there is to it. It's illegal on two counts - under the Federal Fraud statutes as well as the secrecy acts. Rove, allegedly according to the witnesses, violated the law by revealing the identity of a CIA agent, apparently for political reasons. This is illegal because it's dangerous for the CIA agent and also makes them useless as undercover agents in future missions. Secondly, it's illegal because under the federal fraud statutes, you're not supposed to use your federal job to do things outside of the scope of that job - like outing cia agents... Interestingly, the conspiracy laws may also apply here - not only would Rove be guilty but by extension everyone who helped him cover it up - possibly knowingly or not knowingly - this would include the president who explicitly denied that Rove outed Plame. His denial, and Rove's repeated denial amount to fraud - lying for personal gain. In this case, fraud against the United States Government - treason. Anyway, I'm not saying we shouldn't offer amnesty to the convicts when they come out - after all, let him who is without sin throw the first stone - at the same time, I think it would be a great idea to lock Mr. Libby in a room with some street-cops from the Bronx and see what they can get him to admit. Here's what I'm saying - cops find crooks, district attorneys charge and prosecute them. That's how the legal system works. Find the crooks - try them in open court. Except, apparently, in this case - which can't be suprising since, well, the attorney general does kind of work for the guilty party(ies). Something wrong there, I think. I know now that if I'd been writing the constitution, I'd have made two separate attorney general's offices, one elected by the majority and the other the runner-up (like the president and vice-president were supposed to be!) to make sure someone's actually watching the baby. You just can't expect someone to honestly start going after their own bosses. In sum, then, for goodness sakes - charge the man. Arrest him, keep him up all night in a stinky room being questioned by some fat detectives (not that all detectives are fat, just that they'd do the job right...) with a regular Harlem beet and I guarantee a confession in the morning. I mean, WHY THE KIT GLOVES? When the -hard on crime- conservatives go after people they don't like - they overlook the use of brass knuckles or bobby sticks occasionally as long as they cop is getting his job done. So where's the blood-stained confession? Who's not beating the crap out of Rove right now to make sure he fesses up!? Where's the guy with the bag of oranges? I know, I know, asking for EQALITY before the law just doesn't apply at a certain level - some people are above the law and they're there just to prove it to all us little people who are under the law (and please note that in this essay I have NOT recommended any violence be done to any memeber of the government or any citizen of the united states for that matter). But for goodness sake, this is absurd. It's a done deal - the cop walks in with a gun, the fingerprints a man and his dead wife and says "DA, we got the guy, his gun, his motive and his fingerprints and an eye witness" and the DA says "oh, maybe November." User Originated Comments: From: CB 2006-04-29 00:00:00 bush, using christian people. just before the american people started ridiulously fighting over who was elected president, i was at a christian conference. a well known all over the world bishop, allowed bush to break-in for 2 mins on the big screen to talk about the conference. the stadium was pack with 8-15 thousand people from the united states and different countries. anybody with common sense knew what he wanted. i,m a christian and i was upset. i didn,t come to the conference to see or hear him. i didn,t care that he was watching. did he have to make his presents known? after the election no more break-in interruptions. i,m concern, about how he orchestrated and handle some circumstances as the president of this country. right now this country is so shrewed up because, the citizens are not on one accord to the constitution to which this country was build on. nevertheless i love this country, and yes i do care about my president still. i will get involved and pray for the better. From: notareaderandwontbeafterthisslop 2005-11-14 00:00:00 wtf? gac! From: wow 2005-10-13 14:42:51 they really messed this thing up! From: Bush is Great! 2005-10-13 04:08:18 "it it" - only a bunch of dimwitted nincompoops would believe the stuff on this site. ms. miers is a christian woman - that is why she's getting bad press nowadays. your suggestion that that group of people is having some kind of strange sexual affair is only name-calling. this is why nobody takes you people seriously. From: most of america 2005-10-13 03:51:24 to: bush is great. you are correct, etc is not a word, it it an indication of continuation, as "goes on and on". that said, why don't you give it up, your leader is an incompentent loser!! my question to you is: how can there be enough room underneath bush's desk for you, karl rove, james dobson, harriet miers, bill frist, tom delay, rush limbaugh, sean hannity, norm coleman, ann coulter, and the list(etc) goes on and on. bill clinton had to make room for only monica, how do you people do this?? do you take turns, take a number, or whatever. in any event, we do not care to know how you people conduct your private business. as far as your comment, "the poor and middle cl-ss are irrevelant", i dare you to repeat that to jesus, and if you even think that gwbush is a "christian", what in the hell are you smoking or drinking?? by the way, do you own a white pointy hat?? |
