![]() Impeach George Bush Feinstein Rolls Over and Betrays Her Constituency Despite an overwhelming response by her constituency, Diane Feinstein decided to vote against the will of the people, and for granting war powers to Bush. Source: TheTip, 2002-10-10 Candidate: Diane In her prepared press-release she states: "I have decided to vote for the Resolution introduced by Senators Lieberman, Warner, Bayh and McCain. In two prior floor statements, I have expressed my views. Rather than repeat them here, I ask unanimous consent to include them in the Record right after these remarks. I serve as the Senior Senator from California, representing 35 million people. That is a formidable task. People have weighed in by the tens of thousands. If I were just to cast a representative vote based on those who have voiced their opinions with my office - and with no other factors - I would have to vote against this resolution." But this view, that a representative should not have to listen to her constituency is flagrantly irresponsible, a rejection of her duty to represent our will, and an affront to any thinking citizen. Diane - We will remember how you have betrayed us. Add a comment to this Message in our Forums. While you're at it, check out our forums too!
