William Bratton gets back from Israel Where he learned to fight Terror Like the Pros

Los Angele's restless racial segregation has caused constant tension in the city for years, but now the police are turning to deal with the problem like the pros - the Israelis.

Source: TheTip, 2003-01-23

Candidate: LA City

He reported the lessons learned:

In Israel, the police wear military gear.
They take threats seriously.
They don't serve the community but act as a local military group.

They are nationalized and cooperate at a higher level to provide better nationwide security more efficiently.

But Los Angeles doesn't have a terrorist problem. We have a racism problem.

i totally support bratton and his use of excessive
and perhaps unconstitutional activity. give him
and this mindset a few years to sink in and we'll
finally have the all out national war needed to
get rid of people like him

heaven forbid that we declare war on gangs! if
bratton is true to his word, only gang members
have to fear the percieved military style law
enforcment. bratton proved himself in boston & new
york, the ethnic communities need to give him a
chance. cry wolf if his officers step out of line,
or better yet, come up with a solution yourself.
