Feinstein Rolls Over and Betrays Her Constituency

In her prepared press-release she states:

"I have decided to vote for the Resolution introduced by Senators Lieberman, Warner, Bayh and McCain. In two prior floor statements, I have expressed my views. Rather than repeat them here, I ask unanimous consent to include them in the Record right after these remarks. I serve as the Senior Senator from California, representing 35 million people. That is a formidable task. People have weighed in by the tens of thousands. If I were just to cast a representative vote based on those who have voiced their opinions with my office - and with no other factors - I would have to vote against this resolution."

But this view, that a representative should not have to listen to her constituency is flagrantly irresponsible, a rejection of her duty to represent our will, and an affront to any thinking citizen.

Diane - We will remember how you have betrayed us.

i doubt the hosts of this website will even
present this. no one wants to go to war. you have
had the only reasonable voice. you did not betray
your constituency, you are stepping to the beat of
your beliefs. as unpopular as that may be right
now. i am proud to know that at times such as
these you will use your deepest intuition, one
based on facts not accessable to most of us. you
have undertood the fine line we walk between being
arrogant americans and peacekeepers of the world.
stay strong, you're in our prayers along with all
our nations leaders.
